Integrative Cardiovascular Physiology Laboratory

Dr. Christopher Gentile, Director

Our laboratory focuses on identifying the mechanisms by which nutrient excess and obesity cause dysfunction of the cardiovascular system. In particular, we are currently utilizing cell and animal models to examine the role of the endoplasmic reticulum on the development and progression of several aspects of vascular dysfunction, including aortic stiffness, endothelial dysfunction, and atherosclerosis.
